Regarded internationally as one of the leading designers of stage sets and costumes for Opera, Ballet and Theatre – John Macfarlane has created a lavish, painterly proscenia for this original Pollock’s Toy Theatre limited to 200 pieces.
Alongside his iconic designs for Swan Lake at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. John Macfarlane is known for his distinct reinterpretation of Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece for Sir Peter Wright’s production of The Nutcracker at The Birmingham Royal Ballet.
This miniature theatre printed on 350 gsm card comes complete with three sumptuous scenes, 10 exquisite characters and a magical Christmas Tree from The Nutcracker.
The theatre includes three scenes from The Nutcracker: Christmas Eve at The Stahlbaum House, The Land of Snow and The Kingdom of Sweets. Characters include King Rat, Drosselmeyer the Magician and Toymaker and the Sugar Plum Fairy. The double sided curtain features The Nutcracker Doll.
This paper theatre from Benjamin Pollock’s Toyshop in miniature will adorn a Christmas setting for years to come as a reminder of the classic ballet. Easy to assemble the limited edition piece comes with a special programme.
